Built to give back to Stockton

A Stockton kid should come off the mat kinder, not meaner.

"Growing up in Stockton, I understand the struggles of the environment. That's why our priority is to empower and give back to the community through hard work and martial arts."
Kalani "Coach K" Foster

Learning to fight shouldn't come with a room full of egos.

How it started

The day a 115 pound kid broke Coach K's arm

Kalani grew up in Stockton. He started martial arts at 8, with eskrima, boxing and kajukenbo. As a teenager he joined an MMA gym to stay off the streets.

Kalani's first roll went badly. A 115 pound kid broke his arm. Nobody had taught Kalani to tap.

He came back the next day. That was more than 20 years ago.

How this gym runs

What Coach K won't bend on

  • You learn to tap before you roll. That's the lesson of his first roll.
  • A kid should come out of class kinder, not meaner.
  • Your first class should cost you nothing.
  • A gym should give back to the town it sits in. Sunday Service is free and open to all.
  • Family, not franchise.
